The Permian Basin Healthcare Network (PBHN) is comprised of 221 physicians representing 36 specialties, 142 allied healthcare providers, and Medical Center Hospital, a state-of-the-art bed facility offering a full range of services including a Cardiac Cath Lab, Chest Pain Clinic, outpatient surgery center, and new Center for Women & Infants. Medical Center Hospital is also the primary teaching hospital for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa.
PBHN currently contracts with Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) and other healthcare insurers to provide healthcare services to approximately 85,000 covered lives and with self-insured employers to serve an additional 9,000 covered lives.
PBHN, a non-profit, taxable Texas corporation, was organized as a Physician Hospital Organization in 1994 to serve Ector County and 17 surrounding counties of the Permian Basin. PBHN is governed by a nine-member all physician Board of Directors.
